Restoration scope
A locally grounded approach to coastal habitat recovery and native vegetation.

Representative landscapeBiodiversity restoration
A community-led initiative to restore degraded coastal backwaters and native habitat.

THE CHALLENGE
Pollution, encroachment, and invasive vegetation have degraded a landscape once rich in mangroves, birds, and aquatic life.
THE APPROACH
The initiative combines invasive species management, native mangrove and palmyra restoration, and community participation in long-term stewardship.
SIV’S ROLE
SIV Impact helps shape the restoration program and coordinate local implementation and community participation. Ecological conditions and long-term care inform the approach to invasive vegetation management and native habitat restoration.
INTENDED VALUE
The intended value is a healthier coastal habitat with stronger local stewardship. Ecological recovery will be assessed separately from planting activity.
PROJECT SCOPE
A locally grounded approach to coastal habitat recovery and native vegetation.
Coordination of restoration activities and local participation.
Responsibilities for ongoing care and monitoring of establishment.
PROJECT GOALS

Native planting goal
Native planting goal
Planting and restoration-area goals describe planned activity. Monitoring should also assess native vegetation establishment, survival, habitat condition and maintenance needs over time.
These highlights describe project goals, design capacity and planned scope. They are not measured results.
